Introduction
Confusion over the expected return of Christ continued to cause disturbances in the church at Thessalonica. In today’s reading, Paul greets the Thessalonians and tells them he is pleased with their faith and love, which has grown despite suffering. He describes how those who reject God will be punished.

Lord Jesus, as I eagerly await your return, fulfill my desire for goodness and help me to grow day by day in faith and love. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.
