Who, Me? Make Disciples? - How God Has Equipped YouSample

Who, Me? Make Disciples? - How God Has Equipped You

DAY 6 OF 6

Day 6: Yes, You!

Three facts stand out for us as Christ’s people:

1. The Lord wants us to make disciples. He commissioned us to do it when He said, “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).

2. There are plenty of people who need to be discipled. “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few” (Matthew 9:37).

3. Any of us can disciple others if we believe God, love people, and follow Christ with the intent of becoming like Him.

Don’t wait until you feel capable. The heart of the disciplemaker is his character, not his skills. Step out in faith, invest your life in someone else, and pick up the skills as you go along.

Do you know a young Christian who needs help in his or her spiritual life? What step(s) might you take to begin discipling that person? Here are some suggestions to consider:

  • Ask God for His direction.

  • Work on developing your friendship with the person.

  • Read books or talk to experienced disciplemakers to learn practical methods for helping someone grow.

  • Begin praying for the person.

  • Ask the person about establishing a discipling relationship.

  • Study Paul’s approach to disciplemaking in 1 Thessalonians.
