Help! I'm Being BulliedSample

Getting revenge is often seen as the best thing to do when someone mistreats you. People even make it look brave and exciting to get revenge on people who mistreat others. However, when Jesus was on the earth, He told his followers to do the exact opposite. Paul reminded us of whose job it really is to be revengeful. He said, “Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, ‘I will take revenge; I will pay them back, says the Lord.’” It isn’t our job to get revenge on other people, whether they’re hurting us or someone who we care about. Our job is to respond with love, respect them, and do as much as we possibly can to live at peace with those around us. Taking revenge is God’s job. He tells us to leave it to him.

Challenge: Today, don’t take revenge, even when you want to. Anytime you are tempted to retaliate and take revenge, pray for the person instead and ask God to help you love them like He loves them.
