Through the Bible: 2 Kings

DAY 3 OF 10

Hidden Power

"Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

2 Kings 6:16-17 (ESV)

Many a time we get overwhelmed with the circumstance and people around us. Thoughts of insecurity, people around us spewing words that belittle us, take away our confidence, filling us with fear, forbidding us to move forward. Fear gripped Elisha's servant when he saw the city, surrounded by the enemy's army on horses and chariots.

This Old Testament passage gives a beautiful representation of what the Bible mentions in the New Testament, which encourages us to believe that 'the Christ in us is greater than the one in the world'. Today, may we ask God to open our eyes to see the angel armies with us as we prepare to face today's challenges and battles.

Prayer:

Father, we pray today we would move forward in the confidence that we are more than conquerors with You, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
