They mistakenly expected him to exert brute political power that would liberate them from Roman domination. Instead, Christ came to earth under God’s authority to set sinners free. His eternal kingdom is not bound by space and time. He reigns in the hearts of those who surrender their lives to Him.
Is Christ ruling your heart today? Have you fully surrendered your will to His leading? Rather than demand our way, we are called to love one another and pursue peace.
Father, help us to put down our swords and surrender our hearts completely to You. Strip away our pride and help us to humbly serve Your Kingdom. Amen.
