Seeing God's Goodness During TrialsSample

Seeing God's Goodness During Trials

DAY 4 OF 4

GOD'S GOODNESS IS TO BE PRAISED!

Praise is an essential part of a life surrendered to God. Although it's difficult to turn your eyes to God and sing His praises when you're burdened by grief and overwhelmed by trouble, it's exactly what scripture tells us to do. Jesus gave thanks to the Father the night before His crucifixion when He broke bread and drank the cup with the disciples. What an incredible example of righteous praise!

The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the church in Thessalonica, tells believers to rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances. Our hearts should be grateful toward God, even when we face obstacles because we know He is intimately involved in our lives, and He is in control.

When we praise and thank God for our trials, we grow in our faith. The testing of our faith through bad experiences produces endurance, which leads to spiritual maturity and inner peace. Praising God should not fluctuate with our situation or feelings. God's goodness should lead to thankfulness on our part for His enduring love.

For what will you praise God in your current circumstances? If you're not sure how to glorify God in every situation, open the book of Psalms, the praise book of the Bible, for inspiration. You can even end your praise with this well-known doxology:

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

The Wiedmann Bible team wishes you peace and comfort in God's goodness. GOD IS GOOD!
