Dream With God

Here’s the thing, glory girl...I mean it when I say you get to dream WITH God. I believe that if you trust Jesus as your Savior, you get to HEAR FROM GOD. 

I believe that He will give you visions and dreams and ideas for your life that are incredible and exciting. I believe that He’ll speak to you in cool ways and in crazy places. But I don’t want to talk too much about it without just encouraging you to try it. Before we dig in, here are a few questions:    

• Do you feel like you’ve ever heard from God?    


• Have you ever heard anyone else talk about hearing from God?    


• Are you scared you might hear wrong?

Here are some of my favorite verses about God talking to His people:

"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way; walk in it.'”—Isaiah 30:21 (NIV)

"All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."—John 14:25-27 (NIV)

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do." James 1:5-8 (NIV)

Here’s the plain way I explain those verses:

Jesus was sent so that we might become friends of God. He paid the price for our sin, and defeated death and sin when He rose from the dead – stepping in to be punished so we could have a relationship with God.

But that relationship doesn’t only happen in heaven! Because of the Holy Spirit, the wild and beautiful nature of God works on earth, even when Jesus isn’t physically here. The Holy Spirit is God HERE, in our hearts, in our lives, in our homes, in our words and mind. And Jesus was constantly telling us how it would be better for us when the Holy Spirit came. The Holy Spirit would give us guidance, wisdom, comfort, peace, and company.

And I believe with all I’ve got that there is no reason the Holy Spirit would want to hold back with you. I believe what God’s Word says, that if you ask for wisdom, you’ll get it. I believe that God gets excited about giving good gifts and one of the best gifts He gives is direction. He tells us where to go to help us give Him more glory.

Do I think He always gives in it a dream? No.

Do I think He always tells us every single little step? It hasn’t happened that way for me.

But do I think there’s any reason He’d hold back from you? No.

With all that I’ve got, I believe that as much as you want God, He wants to give you Himself even more.
