They Could NotSample

THEY PLACED HIM IN THE TOMB BUT THEY COULD NOT KEEP HIM THERE, FOR HE HAS RISEN, HE IS ALIVE!

“Don’t be alarmed”, he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene,” who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. Mark 16: 6

Very early on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Salome bought spices to anoint Jesus’ body. But they discussed who would roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb; for it could only be removed by joint efforts of several men.

As they approached the tomb, they saw the large stone had been rolled away. When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side and they were alarmed. Don’t be afraid, you’re looking for Jesus the Nazarene who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. This is wonderful news!

They placed him in the tomb but they could not keep him there, for He has risen, HE is alive!

Jesus was born, came to seek and save the lost, suffered for our sins, died but death could not hold him, he defeated it, he has risen, he is alive. This is Good news!

1. This whole event delivers bad news to the enemy. Jesus, the conqueror!


2. This whole event brings hope and life for the broken hearted. Jesus, the promise keeper!


3. This whole event calls sinners to come to Him. You and I once were bound in sin. But he redeemed us. Jesus, the redeemer!


4. This whole event makes us live this moment, every-day, enjoying his presence. Jesus, your firm foundation!


5. This whole event tells us how loving and powerful our God is! Jesus, the almighty!
