Day Five: Jesus is the Bridegroom!

"Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready." — Revelation 19:7.

What is more exciting to an engaged couple and their loved ones than the arrival of their wedding day?

The moment the groom gets to see his bride for the first time in all her glory, the reading of the vows, and their first embrace as one—these moments bring such a flood of love and completeness that often, even the groom sheds a tear. The purity and joy of the union is so powerful! 

Jesus is your bridegroom, with us as His bride. This imagery is a perfect picture of the anticipation and eagerness that Jesus has for us—His bride!

Jesus longs for you to come to Him and to be united with Him. He is not distant, difficult, or unkind. He never counts your faults and He will never focus on your mistakes. Jesus is waiting for you to see the love that He has for you! 

When Jesus promised that nothing would ever separate us from the love of our Father, it was not based on our ability to earn it. Instead, it was based on the power of His love to break through every wall and every obstacle, just as He says in Song of Solomon 8:6-7: Love is invincible in the face of danger and death. Passion laughs at the terrors of hell.

The fire of love stops at nothing—it sweeps over everything before it.

Flood waters can’t drown love, and torrents of rain can’t put it out.

This is how Jesus feels toward you. Complete and utter, unquenchable love. 

Say So: Jesus is my Bridegroom. He is mine and I am His. His love for me is unstoppable. He longs to spend eternity with me beginning today. I receive His love for me. I believe His love for me. and nothing I or anyone else can do, can separate me from Him, or Him from me, today and forever, in Jesus’ Name.
