“The Evil Day” Happens to Good People

Spiritual armor is our royal dress code to help us stand in the “evil day.” An evil day can happen to anyone, even good people. An evil day can come to righteous people. It can begin with everything that can go wrong, going wrong. You may feel overwhelmed. In those times you have to remember that the things happening around you are more spiritual than you realize. Sometimes it might feel like you don't have the strength to fight back, but all you need to do, is stand.

Just stand!

Remember, if you put on the whole armor of God, it will be only an evil “day” for you, not evil days. That’s a promise. An evil day will end and the next morning God renews His mercy.

The devil would whisper, “This evil day will not end; it will continue. You’re a failure, a total loser, nothing ever works out in your life.” I usually responded to him by saying: “You are a liar! This is your trick; to use an evil day to make me into an evil person, but you were defeated on the cross. Even on this day, I will stand in my position and withstand your opposition.” I can’t tell you how many times the next morning everything would be new and different. The evil day had come to an end. Period!

God didn’t give us spiritual armor to help us avoid an evil day but to help us avoid becoming evil people due to evil days in our life. God's spiritual armor is given to us so that an evil day doesn’t turn into an evil week or an evil month or an evil year or even an evil life.

The devil’s strategy is to use the evil day to turn you into an evil person. But God gives you a solution: His armor. God's armor doesn’t prevent you from having an evil day, but it will protect you from becoming an evil person. It will limit how long that evil day lingers. When the evil day comes, don’t panic.

Put on your royal robe.

By faith stand in your position of victory.

Confess your salvation; eliminate condemnation.

Proclaim Jesus’ righteousness over you even when you don’t feel like you’re righteous.

Claim the truth of God’s Word even when events contradict it

Declare the peace that passes understanding when you feel confused.

Speak God’s Word, not your feelings.

You will be amazed at how that kind of attitude will change the spiritual climate of your evil day. The enemy will be pushed back. You will take back the ground from the enemy.
