Sketchy People

DAY 3 OF 5

Saul (later named Paul) was on a mission to be violent and destructive, to persecute and hurt the followers of Christ. But Jesus interrupts his sketchy behavior and says, “Wait a second, stop what you're doing. Why are you doing this?” I love that Jesus can interrupt sketchy situations, sketchy plans, and sketchy behaviors. After this interaction on the road to Damascus, Saul’s heart was transformed. As equally as he had persecuted the gospel, he became equally and even more so, a proponent of the gospel. The Apostle Paul later went on to write two-thirds of the New Testament, took four missionary journeys, and established churches wherever he went.

Reflection:

1. Think about your attitudes and behaviors. Are any of them destructive to yourself or others?

2. Is there anyone in your life that has a destructive attitude or behavior toward you?

Jesus can interrupt and completely change situations. Ask Jesus to intervene and bring redemption and complete transformation to destructive attitudes and behaviors. Let’s never give up hope on ourselves or people we know around us when things are sketchy. Remember: No matter what the sketchy looks like, the genuine love of Jesus can bring transformation and redemption.
