Overcoming the Lies of the EnemySample

Overcoming the Lies of the Enemy

DAY 3 OF 5

BELIEVE GOD'S WORD

"Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matthew 4:1-4

The only defense we have against the lies of the enemy is our faith in God's Word. When the devil tempted Jesus in the wilderness, our Lord responded to his lies with God's truth. When the enemy says we are rejected, we must believe we are accepted in the beloved (Ephesians 1:6).  If he tells us we are defeated, we remember  God always causes us to triumph in Christ (2 Corinthians 2:14) , and each time the devil declares we will fail, we believe we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). We are free from the bondage of the lies of the enemy by our faith in God's Word.

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32 KJV

QUESTION: Do you believe the Word of God in spite of what the enemy says and what you see?

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me to stand strong in the truth of your Word that I may always overcome the lies of the devil.
