We struggle to be content.
Nothing is ever good enough. We aren't happy with our leaders, with our spouse, our children, our job, or the things that we have. We are always wanting more… or something different. It feels like there exists a void. We say to ourselves, “If only I could fill that void, then I would be truly happy.”
We try to fill the void with different things: possessions, relationships, sex, power, money, and we end up feeling more empty and depressed than when we started.
There is only one place where we can find true contentment and that is in Jesus Christ himself. We can’t find it in things, people, or circumstances.
True contentment is only found in convictions. Rest in God’s promises today!
