We Need You  

All manner of skill and creativity has been given to those He created… each of us.

Gay Hendricks, in The Big Leap, calls it the “Zone of Genius.” Derek Sivers, author, TEDx speaker, and founder of CDBaby, calls it “your Obvious.” Elle Luna, the author of The Crossroads of Should and Must, calls it “your Must.” Scripture calls it your gift and your talent.

However any of those resonate with you, trust and believe that you have IT.

The same God Who created the various minerals in this photo, Who formed them in this canyon, Who created the water and caused it to flow through and create this beautiful tapestry, Who created the elements that go into the technology to capture this photo, Who created the photographer and gave her the eye and skill to capture this work of His hand, and Who created our eyes to be able to see the colors and patterns and textures, and our minds that process it and find it beautiful…

This same God determined that what the world needs is YOU.

You, to bring your unique perspective; you, to give of your gifts; you, to create and manifest into existence things that aren’t; you, to behold and appreciate the skill and work of others…

YOU

To “do every work” and “design artistic works.” (Ex. 35:35)

Whether that’s:

🎨 with paint and canvas,

💻 with spreadsheet and numbers,

💪 with mercy and strength,

👥 with relationships and teams,

✍🏼 with words and ideas,

🚀 with YOUR talent and YOUR medium!

You are a gift! And gifts are meant to be given away. Share your obvious, your genius, your must, your talents.

We need YOU!

We Need Each Other

We all have a zone of genius… an innate talent or way of seeing things or insight or wisdom. Most of us don’t realize it as genius because we do it with so little effort.

But what is effortless for us, others struggle to do… and vice versa. That’s why we need community; that’s why we need the church. And why we need to BE the church.

There are obvious needs that get more air time (and drain those who try to do it all), but we often overlook or downplay the less obvious needs: a smile, a word of encouragement, a meal, an introduction, a presence, a resume revamp, a phone call, a text message, a handwritten note, a date night, a lawn mow, eye contact, a hug, a book suggestion, a movie, a poem, a piece of art, a shopping excursion. Give, give, give, give.

To whom much is given (that includes all of us), much is expected.

You are a gift; and gifts were meant to be given away.

Sowing Bountifully

What is obvious to us is often amazing to others. That’s because they were given one gift and we were given another.

Sow your gift widely and bountifully. And reap bountifully—with gratitude—of the gifts God has given others for your benefit.
