Lamb of God

DAY 5 OF 7

Lamb Over Me

In ancient Chinese writing, the top half of the pictogram for the word “righteousness” is “lamb.” The bottom half is “I,” or “me,” a personal pronoun. Those two things come together: “lamb” is at the top and “me” at the bottom. Lamb over me is the way righteousness is written in ancient Chinese. Isn’t that amazing? It is the fingerprint of God in Buddhist culture.

The lamb being over me equals righteousness. This, my friend, is the great story of Jesus Christ. The Lamb of God has come to die on a cross, to shed His blood, so that your sin—whether it is little bitty or huge and great—is forgiven. The Lamb is over you and the righteousness of God is in your life. Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world—not just your sin, or my sin. It is open to the entire world.

It is open to Jew and Gentile, male and female, black and white, rich and poor, educated and non-educated. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life through their faith in Jesus Christ” (John 3:16). Everyone in the world has an opportunity to receive the power of the righteousness of the Lamb. Jesus can do something incredible in your life.

The Lamb over me brings righteousness, and we celebrate that. We celebrate that His purity and forgiveness is over us.

What could God do in your life if you really trust Him, today? What does God have for you tomorrow, if you really go for it today, and allow Him to do His work in your life? Jesus showed up in John’s life the next day, and I’ve got great news for you. God and Jesus are omnipresent. He is not just here on the next day. He is here today. Jesus is showing up right now in your life. He wants a relationship with you. He does not want you to place your faith in church attendance or religion, nor in what you give or don’t give. He wants you to place your trust in Him. He wants you to believe that He came from Heaven to earth and paid the ultimate sacrifice. He is the grand champion Lamb that died on the cross to wash you clean.  This truth and promise changes anyone’s life for all of eternity.
