All In

DAY 4 OF 31

It’s no newsflash that opportunities to be busy abound. Without strict vigilance and prioritizing to determine what’s important, we can wander off and get “busy” with just about anything. Some of the things we get involved with are important things with good rewards. Have you ever heard it said “good is the enemy of great?” It’s especially true when it comes to going all in spiritually.

It’s hard to conceive that Satan could help us get involved with good things. But consider with me the lengths he will go in order to keep you from the things that honor the Lord—from the things that will allow you to grow in Christ. He is a master manipulator of priorities and calendars and will stop at nothing to disengage you.

This year, I want to challenge you to be all in on the priorities the first Church devoted themselves to daily. They are clearly spelled out in Acts 2:41-47.

You will never experience all the power God has for you without an all in devotion to the things that bring the power we read about after Pentecost. The first believers turned their backs on their old lives and dead religion for the abundant life only Jesus can provide. The first believers were not only transformed, but then continued in these heavenly activities which activated and allowed the power of God to flow.

Today, some of us show up to church a couple weekends a month for one hour, pick up our Bibles once a week, only pray short blessings over our food, and then expect to walk in power. It does not happen that way. You have to ask yourself, “What do I want out of this life?” Read Galatians 6:8. The biblical principle of sowing and reaping cannot be ignored.

Here are some ways to go all in in your faith this year:

1. Fast

2. Take part in an Entire-Bible Reading Plan here on YouVersion

3. Develop a personal growth plan

4. Be consistent in weekend worship

5. Grow in a small group

6. Serve others

7. Give generously

The level of God’s power you experience is often in direct proportion to how you participate. This year can be your greatest year of spiritual growth!
