The kingdom of heaven is not a place you can find on a map. It doesn’t have borders, a cap- ital or armies. The kingdom of heaven is any- where that God’s people follow Him as their king. It’s God’s people, living God’s way in God’s world right here and now! This means things like helping the poor and the sick, treating other people with respect, meeting with other Christians, and being honest and trustworthy.
Why is the kingdom of heaven like a treasure? Because it’s so valuable! More valuable than anything else in our lives. And when you find it, you give up your old way of life and ask God to forgive you. Then you start living your life the way Jesus taught and that’s when you discover just how precious it is to be a part of the kingdom of heaven.
