Easter: If the Grave Could Talk

DAY 6 OF 6

You Lose

We all fight so hard to make our life matter. We all want to leave a legacy. We all want to leave the world a better place and give our kids a better life. But what if this whole thing is worthless in the end? What if we all die, and then everything becomes meaningless? We all have those thoughts throughout our life. In the middle of some of the toughest battles we have faced, we all have thought, “Is this really going to change? Am I ever going to get ahead financially? Will my marriage ever get back to normal? Will this addiction ever go away?” There is a fear and loss of hope. There is a fear of being a loser. (Go ahead, look at yourself in the mirror, using your index finger and thumb to make an “L” and put it on your forehead.) If the grave could talk, it would say, “Game over. You lose.”

But then there is Jesus, the man who wins the ultimate battle.  Jesus OVERCAME death. Jesus overcame the grave. We will not lose, because Jesus did not lose. As we follow Jesus, we follow the savior who is the ultimate victor. And we get to be on His team. He picks us. He has chosen you. You would be a fool if you didn’t join the team who has already won the war. “His grave says, “You win.”

PRAY: “Jesus, I want to be on your team. I submit my life to your will. I don’t want to fight my own battles. I need you to fight on my behalf. Jesus, thank you for rising from the grave!”
