The Structure of Kingdom StewardshipSample

The Structure of Kingdom Stewardship

DAY 3 OF 3

Wilderness

You cannot live in rebellion toward God and expect God’s presence in your life. You might as well start praying to yourself if that is the mindset by which you operate. Because when you establish yourself as king or queen or ruler, then you must look to yourself for provision, protection, peace, blessing and power. The church can’t help you. Nobody can help you. If you are your own ruler, only you can help you.

God gave the Israelites a review of where they had been. God had delivered them from Egypt. He was taking them to the Promised Land. But in order to get there, they had to pass through a wilderness first. Deuteronomy 8:2 reads, “You shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.”

If you have been a Christian for any length of time, I can almost assume you have been through a wilderness experience yourself. These are seasons where you have to draw close to God or you simply won’t make it. You have to follow His lead, eat from His hand, and obey His commands. The reason He takes each of us through these periods is so that He can humble, test and develop us that we might remember Him more fully when we enter into that which is abundant and good.
