Self-Harm And God's LoveSample

Self-Harm And God's Love

DAY 5 OF 5

"Living with Hope" Once we get past what our sins mean, and who offers forgiveness for them, then we are left with several questions about how we are going to live going forward. We have to change how we define our identity through an ongoing relationship with Jesus. We have already confessed our sins and sought his forgiveness. Now we must take the next step of inviting him into our lives and doing the things that will draw us closer to him. We often make a relationship with God more complicated than it is. If we look at the best relationships they usually happen because we care about one another, we spend time together, and we value what the other has to say. The same things hold true for a relationship with Jesus. Talk with him through prayer. Listen to him with dedicated quiet time. Get to know him through reading his word and worship. The reality is you are loved and a child of God…not a cutter or burner. Your true identity is found in Jesus and with that comes real joy and hope. We now need to start using the powerful tools God gives us to smash the warped worldly philosophies and tear down barriers erected against the truth of God. Funnel every loose thought, emotion, and impulse into the structure of a life shaped by Christ. The pain and hopelessness of self-harm can be removed from our lives. We can find hope and joy again through Jesus. May you find that and experience it in your life. If you need to talk with someone feel free to chat with us at www.chataboutjesus.com.
