Love Your Enemies.

DAY 3 OF 3

Pray For Them That Use You.

“And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.” Job‬ ‭42:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Job is an excellent example of praying for those who spoke against you. Notice, at the end of Job’s tests and trials, the Bible still calls the people who accused Job his “friends”. Imagine that, after everything that they had said and done, Job prayed for them. After Job had prayed for them, God gave Job double of everything that he had lost.

Notice this, Job had more children after this trial as well — children by the same wife. Remember in Job 2:9, Job’s wife was the first one who spoke against him even before his friends stepped on the scene! Job forgave his wife as well as his friends. He forgave completely and totally. He relinquished the debt of everyone who was involved. Choose to release others from the prison of offense. Increase is attached to the condition of your heart. Forgive quickly and often.

Forgive those who are close to you. I would imagine that Job’s wife was the closest person to him and she even declared, “Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.” Job‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬. Even those closest to you will sometimes act out of character when high pressure surrounds them. Forgive them and move forward.

Speaking of high pressure, remember the disciples in the boat? In Luke‬ ‭8:23-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬, while the disciples were with Christ, in the middle of a storm, when the stakes were high, they panicked. While their boat was sinking they exclaimed, “Master, master, we perish.” “Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.” Let God rebuke the wind. Let God speak peace to your storm. Let God heal your heart. Let God silence the waves. Don’t panic. Trust God.

Maybe, you’re putting too much emphasis on your enemies and not enough trust in God. Don’t worship people. Worship God. Focus on God and pray for those who use you, abandon you, let you down and talk about you. Put your trust in God. He holds the heart of man, including yours, in His hand.
