THE WAY

DAY 14 OF 14

Walking With Him Works

Wait, what? The manna stopped once they crossed over?

Initially this verse seems negative, but the rest of the verse tells us why:  once they walked into this new promise, they were meant to become fruitful. God now wanted them to cultivate the land, not just wander in the wilderness. He wanted them to participate in the miracle, not just spectate as it fell from the sky. He wanted his people as his partners, not puppets or slaves.

What grace! What a miracle, that the Creator would want to walk with and work with his creation!

When we walk with the Lord we don’t just see miracles along the way. He wants us to help produce or even be miracles along the way. He wants us to bear lasting fruit (John 15:16) not just consume daily bread.

Just as he told Moses to use what was in his hand to see the sea open, and used what little a small boy had to feed thousands, and just as Peter had to step out of the boat to follow Jesus onto the water, we too are created to partner with God on The Way.

When Jesus said, “Follow me,” I’m sure the disciples had no idea what wonders would happen along the way. What an adventure we are invited and created to be a part of. Let’s simply walk with him and get on The Way.

What is in your hand (gift, talent, resource, personality trait, hobby, interest, passion etc) that God could do something great with?
