He's ALWAYS Faithful
Faithfulness is always doing what you say you will do, or are expected to do. People, however, aren’t always reliable, but God's always faithful!
It’s hard to know who you can trust! Friends aren’t always faithful to keep their promises. They don’t always do what they say they’ll do. Sometimes they share your secrets, talk behind your back, don’t stick up for you in front of others, and leave you out. A parent or guardian may let you down by being late, or by not showing up to one of your events as promised. Worse than that, sometimes a parent leaves and walks away forever. All through life people will disappoint you, which could leave you feeling hopeless. However, there's someone who will never leave or disappoint you. God's always faithful and never breaks His promises. He's forever your source of strength and hope!
Even Jesus was let down by His friends when he needed them the most. Jesus asked Peter, James and John to pray for him when he felt weak and overwhelmed with sadness. Jesus knew he was about to be arrested, beaten, and die a painful death on the cross. He needed his best friends to pray for him for just an hour.
In the book of Matthew verses 26:36-46, you find Jesus, in a moment of weakness, said to his three friends, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” But instead, Peter, James and John slept. Jesus was so disappointed and hurt. His best friends let him down. Unfortunately, like Jesus, your friends and family will at times let you down too. But, there is good news! You serve a God who will never let you down. He's always faithful.
Think about it:
1. How has God been faithful to you?
2. How can you be more faithful to your mom, dad, guardian, employer, sibling or friend?
3. How can you be more faithful to God?
4. Who should you ask to forgive you for not always being faithful?
