Our Response - To God's Plan For Our Life

DAY 1 OF 6

God’s Plan For Humanity

“‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’…’’

The above verse spoke into my life even as I was finishing my Bachelor's degree, Then God helped me to do my Masters in a university of my dreams. I landed in a job which was the best fit for me, I got married to a loving husband, and had two adorable boys. My husband's job took us to Semarang, Indonesia.

Life seemed perfect when Leukemia was the diagnosis for my younger son suffering from a bout of Chicken Pox. He passed away three months later. Suddenly life lost its purpose, and this verse seemed questionable in my life. Instead of getting angry with God I started asking what really was God’s plan for me?

At that moment when I was broken and confused, trusting God who had led me thus far seemed to be the only way. However, during this time I was also uncomfortable and doubted what God said He wanted me to do. To my logical mind, it was not a smart thing. In my heart, it did not make sense. God nudged me to trust Him and walk in faith. Having seen the goodness of God in the past, I decided to trust and follow God’s direction.

Surprise and joy filled me as I saw how God was leading me. I realized when God says He will prosper us, it is not with worldly blessings with which we usually associate it.

In the losing of our son, the journey of life started making sense. I understood that God wants each of us to have a right relationship with Him. Our son, as a seven-year-old, set his life right with God during his three months in the hospital. He gave us enough evidence to believe that his relationship with God was made right. He had regular Bible reading & prayer and even fasted and prayed in the middle of his chemotherapy. Today we know our son has run his race and has made it to heaven.

God's plan for humanity is that everyone, would individually know God and have a relationship with him not just on earth but in eternity.

Day 2

About this Plan

Our Response - To God's Plan For Our Life

Is God's plan different from what the world calls ‘Fate’? If God has planned our life, where is our choice? Is it logical for God's plan and our free will to co-exist?

We would like to thank Sherene Ellen Rajaratnam for providing this plan. For more information, please visit: https://sherenerajaratnam.wordpress.com/
