The Triangle Of What Controls YouSample

The Triangle Of What Controls You

DAY 2 OF 6

Colossians 3 has SO MUCH in it! Paul really outdid himself with this one. But let’s focus in on the very first part of the triangle we are going to cover today.

This piece is the foundation.

It’s the base upon which everything else we will learn sits and finds its footing.

Today we are talking about our identity.

The way I define identity is like this: your identity is the most basic, the most true, and the most influential fact or set of facts you believe about yourself.

Paul knows this intimately. He understands how many things go into shaping who we think we are, and how messy it can be when we try to change that. This is why the beginning of Colossians 3 is so brilliant.

Rather than try to untangle our mess, Paul smashes it: “For you have died…”

Who you think you are or who you think you should be has a tremendous impact on everything that follows: what you believe, what you say, and what you do.

Paul wants you to start fresh. He wants you to hit the reset button on EVERYTHING and begin constructing your new identity with one powerful truth: “Christ…is your life.”

Your new identity, your new foundation does not begin with you, my friend.

It begins with Jesus.

And once you get this, once you understand the tremendous freedom an identity shift like this can really bring, anything is possible.

Even what comes next…
