Today's verses in Romans were a huge inspiration in the theme of this song. The opening line says “Oh your love reaches to the skies but there’s no space between you and I”. The bigger question we were asking is how should this inseparable love of God change our lives? If there is nothing that can weaken His love for us, how should that shape our outlook and our perspective? As I have been reflecting on this concept what has come clearly into focus is our ability to sieze the day if you will. One of the lines in the verse declares “I’m waking up, I come alive!” The manifestation of the Gospel in our lives should look like us becoming awake and engaged knowing the love of God is always with us.

The past is gone the future can wait oh my soul what a beautiful day! Christ has dealt with our past on the cross and secured our future into eternity. We have the amazing privilege of reminding our own souls of what Christ has done and regardless of circumstances we can declare and choose to live in victory, not defeat. Even in the midst of our hardest situations Christ has still freed us and saved us. That means we each have something to praise God for no matter the season we are in.

Sit with these verses in Romans. Remind yourself that it’s not just a saying but an absolute fact that nothing can separate you from the love of God. My prayer is that this song would awaken a fresh revelation of the love of God and inspire you to live everyday full of praise. Whatever you face, you’re not alone in it. Let this song and these verses invite you once again to wake up and come alive, embrace life and live victoriously because the love of God is always with you.
