God longs passionately for those who do not yet know him to come into a loving relationship with him. The story of the shepherd searching for the one lost sheep depicts the very heart and priority of God. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. Knowing this has motivated Christians to sacrificial mission and extensive evangelism.
