IT'S HOW YOU TALK TO GOD

God wants nothing more than to have a relationship with us. Prayer is how we talk to God. Many people are intimidated to pray because they feel there is a right or wrong way to do it or they have to speak eloquently when they do. It doesn’t need to be long or fancy, it can be as short of a prayer as saying “thank you God” or “God I need your help.” It’s how we seek after Him and invite Him into all areas of our life. It’s how we stay focused on Him when we pray continually. Praying continually is exactly like how we talk on the phone for hours to our friends and family, or how we talk at work to our co-workers. When we pray, it’s just talking to God and asking Him to be a part of our life. Along with praying continually, it is also important to go away to a quiet place and leave our distractions behind, to focus solely on seeking after God. We need to give Jesus our undivided attention and to allow Him to speak to us. Building any relationship requires time, communication, and listening. It is absolutely no different with God! Through prayer we can give Him praise, thank Him for who He is and all He has done, and it honors Him.

Practical Steps:

Spend time today talking to God throughout your day and then when you get home, go someplace quiet to focus all your attention on Him by letting Him know the things you are grateful for!
