Take Your Place

DAY 5 OF 5

Take Your Place!

An important insight to remember about the call to "Take Your Place" is that you are not in competition with others. As shown in Matthew 25:15-30, your ability will guide evaluation of your actions, which will determine your rewards or punishments. The recipients of the five and two talents earned commendation for their actions of doubling their initial allocations. However, the recipient of the single talent earned rebuke, loss, and banishment for his fear-filled decision to bury his talent.

Further, the fear-filled actions of the recipient of the single talent earned him the title of "useless" (see Matthew 25:30, New Living Translation). Reflecting on God's extravagantly generous actions in reconciling us to Himself and equipping us to live blessed lives, who would want to earn the pronouncement of being "useless" to God's purposes?

Our commission in Matthew 28:19-20 is anchored in the expectation that we go and do. "Take Your Place" is a simple summary of our commission. Remember who you are! God has designed you to succeed in the call on your life. Like Caleb in Numbers 13:30 and Numbers 14:9, know that you are well able and God is with you.

So, go and Take Your Place!
