Confessing The Hebrew Scriptures

DAY 5 OF 5

He is My shepherd, and he shall fulfill all My purpose” while saying to Jerusalem, “You will be built” and to the Temple, “Your foundation will be laid.” ―Isaiah 44:28

ro•ée ve•chol- chef•tzi yash•lim ve•le•mor li•Yeru•sha•láyim ti•ba•né ve•hey•chal ti•va•sed.

This verse refers to God’s words about Cyrus, the unbelieving king of Persia whom God used to rebuild the destroyed first Temple of Israel. Cyrus also returned the stolen treasures of the Temple and invested additional gold, silver, and other resources to the project. As He did for Israel through Cyrus, God assigns shepherds in our lives to help accomplish His purposes for us. It could be an employer, a family member, new legislation, or any number of things that God uses to shepherd us in the direction He has designed for us. He steers us, guiding us into His plans for our lives. Romans 8:28 tells us that He is able to work all things together for our good. Looking back on your life, what are some events or who are some people God has used to shepherd you off of one path and onto another for your good?
