# The Golden Head and the Eagle-Winged Lion The head of the statue was made of pure gold and the first animal Daniel saw looked like a lion and had eagle wings. He said that Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, was the golden head of the statue, but that after him would come other kingdoms. The similarities between the dream and the visions suggest that they may deal with the same kingdoms. Babylon was a great kingdom.
