Overcome! Devotions From Time Of Grace

Jour 4 sur 7

Overcome! There Will Be Justice Have you recently been the victim of a crime? Which is worse--that the case is never solved and the evildoer remains hidden or that the criminal was caught but was unable to be convicted? Either way the evildoer goes free; either way there was no justice. Satan and his evil brood seem to be getting away with murder, aren’t they? Our human attempts at security, policing, courts, and appropriate punishment and deterrence are flawed and partial. As hard as we try to establish justice, we all know that injustices abound--unsolved crimes, racism and prejudices, graft and corruption, and bribery have never been abolished. Hang on! Don’t be afraid, and don’t give up. A time is coming when the great King of heaven will return and hold the world accountable for its deeds. And get this—the believers will share in this divine accountability process: “To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations--‘He will rule them with an iron scepter; he will dash them to pieces like pottery’--just as I have received authority from my Father” (Revelation 2:26, 27). What this means is that you can absorb injustice now, knowing that God will take care of business later. Claim Christ’s forgiveness now, so that you can be sure that no outstanding indictments will be hanging over your head in the judgment. And then you too will be seated with the Judge.
