Waiting On The LordSample

## A People In Waiting Waiting sounds drawn out and like a very dull process. In this ever moving and evolving culture, waiting is a thing of the past. Technology has put us on the cutting edge of optimization so we don't even have to go physically to an interview; it can be conducted over a computer screen, or we can have food delivered right to our doorsteps by using an app cutting out human interaction on the phone, and there is an app for almost everything we need today. Even our parents and grandparents have cell phones and apps. I am not against technology, optimization, and strategies that make people's lives easier; my concern is the inability to wait on anything breeding impatience, frustrations, and anxiety. One area I notice a lot of impatience and anger evident is while driving, we are in such a hurry, and if someone pauses a minute too long when a stoplight turns green, the horns will be honking. Patience is a virtue that our God majors in, there is no one more patient than him, and we see that trait flowing throughout the pages of his word. I am sure God would love to return, and swoop his people up in his big burly arms and shower us with all his love, but his love keeps him from coming just yet because there are many of his children he is still waiting on to come home. While we may not like to wait, patience is a fruit of the Spirit and should be exercised in the life of every believer. How about you? Do you like to wait? What is your patience level? Which area of your life are you struggling with being patient? Ever so often we should stop and take stock of our lives because sometimes we can go off the track and don't even recognize it. We are all a people in waiting, every day we must wait in line at the grocery, bus stop, train station, in traffic, or wait on a phone call, text message, or wait on our kids, wait for the shower, or wait for our dinner. It doesn't matter our age, color, height, or weight we are all a people in waiting, but how we view the waiting process will eventually determine the day, week, month, year, and the life we will have. Waiting can be our friend, or it can be our foe, it can be positive or negative, it can be joyous, or it can be full of sorrow; ultimately the choice is yours. I pray as you read through this plan, you will view the waiting process as a "God Thing" which will eventually turn into a "Good Thing." "If the Lord Jehovah makes us wait, let us do so with our whole hearts; for blessed are all they that wait for Him. He is worth waiting for. The waiting itself is beneficial to us: it tries faith, exercises patience, trains submission, and endears the blessing when it comes.
