In fact, when we trust and rely on Him, He gives us everything we need to withstand the attacks of the enemy. The first step in winning the battle in our minds is clothing ourselves in the full Armor of God: 1. The Helmet of Salvation protects our minds from the fiery darts of the enemy, whose main goal is to keep us in mental bondage. 2. The Breastplate of Righteousness guards our hearts against anything that tries to entice us to sin or lead us astray. 3. The Shield of Faith deflects Satan’s lies by refuting it with the truth of God. 4. The Belt of Truth is the band of protection we wrap around ourselves to ensure the rest of our armor is secure so we can stand firm in the face of adversity. 5. The Gospel of Peace Shoes ensures we are equipped and prepared to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others wherever we go. 6. The Sword of the Spirit is the only offensive instrument God has given us and it comes in the form of His Word which we are to use to counteract attacks from the enemy. Every day of our lives, for as long as we live, we will be involved in spiritual warfare. Hence, it is imperative to use God’s spiritual armor, which is rooted in our faith, trust and knowledge of Him, to defend ourselves in this unseen battle.
