Shift and Say Yes to Your Next

DAY 4 OF 5

# The Lessons We Learn It’s been said that those who don’t acknowledge their history are destined to repeat it. However, that same history can rob you of your future if it isn’t seen from the right perspective. Let’s face it, we all make mistakes. But that is not where failure lies. It’s when we choose not to learn from our mistakes that causes us to lack understanding or exercise discernment and wisdom when the opportunity is presented again. Trust me, it will come around again. You will get another chance to pass the test. God has determined certain things before the beginning of time, before our own existence. Thank goodness the outcome of God’s kingdom plan and purposes have far less to do with us than we think or believe. The cycles are repeated until they are completed in full alignment with God’s divine design for the world and humanity. Yes, His will will be done despite us all! Certain facts must be faced if we are to accomplish the things that beat insistent rhythms in our hearts. I call that God-given desire . His desire given to you becomes your desire. When our hearts agree and we cooperate with His plan, it unfolds as it should—at the right time, in the right place, and with the right players in place. The first thing you need to understand is that your past failures are in no way indicators of your future. This is the first step to getting past where you are. As a matter of fact, mistakes and failures hold valuable keys to success. They expose your weaknesses, the things you need to surrender; and they also help to redirect your focus. As we learn our lessons from what has happened, we can create new milestones. Former difficulties become frameworks for an amazing acceleration to higher heights. So begin by forgiving yourself. Face your reality and acknowledge your humanity. Don’t take the loss personally. It is there to instruct you and show you what you haven’t learned yet. But also to show you what is available. Misdirection can be redirection if we pay attention to the cues. Making a mistake is not an indictment against your intelligence. It is the gateway to broader understanding and accomplishment if you allow it to show you what you didn’t see before. ### Let’s Talk About It: What has not worked for you in the past? What risk are you willing to take? What change are you resisting? ### Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, today I choose to take responsibility. To face the facts and change my scenario by making a different choice. It’s scary, but I am ready for my next. My life is in Your hands, in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen.
