Forgiven to Forgive..Sample

Forgiven to Forgive..

DAY 5 OF 5

# Understanding True Forgiveness When we forgive out of resentment, the reactions we encounter often stem from misconceptions about forgiveness. Let's first clarify what forgiveness isn't: \- Forgiveness isn't denial. It's not pretending that nothing transpired. \- Forgiveness doesn't condone evil. While it acknowledges wrongdoing, it releases the debt. \- Forgiveness doesn't mean enduring continuous pain or accepting repeated harm. \- Forgiveness isn't about forgetting. One can forgive and still recall the offense. The act of forgiving serves as a reminder not for revenge, but for self-protection. \- Forgiveness isn't a sign of weakness. (God isn't weak when He forgives us). \- Forgiveness doesn't always lead to reconciliation. Trust, once broken, takes time to rebuild. Sometimes reconciliation is unattainable, especially if the person has passed away or remains a threat. Now, let's explore the biblical perspective on forgiveness: \- To forgive is to relinquish vengeance and trust God's judgment. He ensures justice prevails. > "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord." (Leviticus 19:18 NIV) \- Forgiveness means releasing hatred, anger, and bitterness. \- It's about acknowledging one's pain and embracing God's healing. \- It's also about coming to terms with the possibility of never receiving what's owed. \- Don't wait for an apology to forgive. Forgiveness is a conscious choice, not a fleeting emotion. \- Choose to forgive wholeheartedly. Identify the wrongs you need to release to liberate yourself, and allow your emotions to surface as you do. \- Forgiveness requires repetition, mirroring God's endless patience with us. \- It's an act of faith, trusting that God will mend our internal wounds. \- True forgiveness is profoundly spiritual. It necessitates prayer and divine intervention, as it's beyond our human nature. > "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." (Colossians 3:13 NIV) I urge you to forgive those who have wronged you. If needed, include yourself in this act of forgiveness. If you've harbored negative thoughts towards God, it's essential to release them. God is never the source of evil, but such thoughts must be relinquished. Lord, I choose to forgive [name of the person] for [their actions or inactions] and the pain it caused me. I renounce my bitterness and release my desire for revenge. I pray for healing and ask for your blessings upon [name of the offender]. In Jesus' name, Amen. May the Holy Spirit heal your heart, and may God's peace envelope you. Forgiveness allows us to draw closer to the heart of God. You can learn to discern His voice, and I'm here to assist you. About this Plan

Forgiven to Forgive..

"Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us." This prayer is challenging to live by. At times, like Peter, we might wish to hold onto our resentment towards those who seem deserving of it. Yet...
