Small Miracles

DAY 3 OF 10

# Finding peace in God’s Miracles [IMAGE CONTENT] I woke up last night and the rain was pelting against my window. I love the sound of rain, which is good because I live in Washington State and it rains all the time (no exaggeration!). The rhythmic sound of the drops splashing against the glass lulled me back to sleep. It was another Small Miracle. I awoke this morning to sunshine. That is also a small miracle in Washington! The rain of last night had refreshed the ground, washed the earth, quenched the thirst of the plants, and reminded me that I need to wash my windows! I was grateful once again that God had watered His creation. In my gratitude for the rain God had sent to my area, I also was reminded to pray for my brothers and sisters who are facing a water shortage in their village. I asked God to spread the rain around and to break the drought that my extended spiritual family is facing. Isn’t it amazing how seeing one Small Miracle in your own life can remind you to pray for the need of a Large Miracle in someone else’s life? Take a moment and pray for those who need the rain today. I love the miraculous promise of Deuteronomy 28: “ The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.” (Deuteronomy 28:12-13, NIV) There are so many promises in this small section of scripture. God says He WILL open the heavens and send rain. God WILL rain down blessings on His people. God WILL bless the work of our hands. The Lord WILL make you the head and not the tail. If we follow the commands of God, we WILL be at the top, and not the bottom. Let me quickly remind you of the Kingdom Principle that being at the “TOP” does not mean we are over all people. In God’s Kingdom, those who are the greatest are the servants of all!!! Today, pray for rain. Pray for those who need rain. Thank God for keeping His promises when He sends rain. And, the next time you hear the Small Miracle of rain, pause and rejoice! You are a miracle! Grant Fishbook
