Cross Fit

DAY 3 OF 7

Financially Fit Is your money in shape? The number one reason for stress, divorce, and depression has to do with money. Financial or fiscal fitness is vital to the health and well-being of every single family. Family finance is not something to play with or to leave to chance. The fear of upcoming bills can cripple you. I personally have been to the place where I didn’t check my mail and I didn’t pick up the phone because I was fearful of what I owed. Not having to worry provides peace of mind, and that can’t be bought. Any type of fitness requires discipline, and financial fitness is no different. You can make a million dollars and still have to worry about finances if you lack discipline. There are, however, methods that you can use that will directly benefit your household. 1\. Develop a family budget. Get a budget together and adhere to it. God has you protected, but understand that He expects you to handle what you can handle. A budget is the first tool to go to when dealing with fiscal problems. Set weekly amounts that you are able to spend, and stick to that amount. 2\. Apply the basics of financial planning. Plan ahead when you can. Take steps necessary to prepare for any known upcoming expenses. Bills, holidays, car and home maintenance can be handled if you are ready for them. 3\. Spend less than you earn. This is self-explanatory. Make sure that your income is greater than your outcome. 4\. Avoid the use of debt. You should seek to use money to pay for what you can, and avoid instances where you put yourself in debt. 5\. Maintain liquidity. This is very similar to planning ahead. Make sure that you have emergency funds set aside, you never know what life will throw your way. Do not be fearful, be prepared. 6\. Set long-term goals. Where do you want to be with your financial growth in a year? Five years? Set goals so that you can measure your own level of growth and see the areas in which you have improved, as well as the areas that need improvement. Decisions determine destiny. Make sure that your financial decisions are in align with the word of God and with your goals, and your destiny will be the financial freedom that you’ve dreamed of.
