Imagine being invited to an exclusive invite-only party. It would be the best party of the year. Everyone wanted to come, but only a special few were invited. You get really dressed up, you have your suit and tie or fancy sparkly dress on, you’re looking sharp, and stride confidently down the red carpet to the front of the line. The man on the door looks down the list and instead of waving you through to the party, he says, “YOUR NAME IS NOT ON THIS LIST, YOU’RE NOT INVITED TO THIS PARTY! VIP’S ONLY.” No way! How could this be? Here’s some good news. Jesus isn’t about special invite-only parties, in the Kingdom of God. Everyone is invited. Jesus didn’t die on the cross and rise again for only a select special few. He died and rose again for me and for you; for every person who has ever lived or will ever live. The Bible says that God so loved the world He gave His one and only Son, that “whoever believes in Him.” (John 3:16) Whoever, whenever, wherever. Jesus didn’t die on the cross just for an exclusive few. To Jesus, we are all VIPs ... VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE. We can share Christ's invitation with others this Easter, let the whole world know that Jesus died and rose again for every person.
