Flame - Royal Flush

DAY 1 OF 7

## Start Over How can God forgive me after knowing what I did? This is a common question with a more baffling answer: Love. The love of God is vast and inexhaustible (Eph. 3:18). In fact, He so loved the world that he sent his son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sin so that we can be forgiven. This great act of love results in our sin being thrown into the sea where He remembers them no more (Micah 7:19, Heb. 10:17). In Christ, we are forgiven and our sins are completely removed as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). Sometimes we can feel regret and grief over our sins. This is a healthy response that should lead us to repentance. It also helps us recognize that we are sinners in need of a Savior. In Mark 2:17, Jesus stated that a physician is not needed for the well, but for the sick. This means that the ones who recognize their sin-sickness will see their need for treatment from the Physician (as opposed to the proud and self-righteous who see themselves as “well” and refuse to acknowledge their sin). However, do not let the power of shame and guilt discourage you from believing in God’s love and promises. By reading 1 John 1:9, we can know that God is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins if we confess them. You can start over today and become a new creation through faith in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17). He will provide you with peace and rest (John 14:27, Matt. 11:28).
