1 Corinthians 5

Dealing with a case of incest
1It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: a man is sleeping with his father’s wife. 2And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been doing this? 3For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing this. 4So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh,#5:5 In contexts like this, the Greek word for flesh (sarx) refers to the sinful state of human beings, often presented as a power in opposition to the Spirit.#5:5 Or of his body so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.
6Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough? 7Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch – as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 8Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people – 10not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister#5:11 The Greek word for brother or sister (adelphos) refers here to a believer, whether man or woman, as part of God’s family; also in 8:11, 13. but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.
12What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13God will judge those outside. ‘Expel the wicked person from among you.’#5:13 Deut. 13:5; 17:7; 19:19; 21:21; 22:21,24; 24:7

Barn ar Anfoesoldeb
1Adroddir fel ffaith fod yna anfoesoldeb rhywiol yn eich plith, a hwnnw'r fath anfoesoldeb na cheir mohono hyd yn oed ymhlith y paganiaid, bod rhyw ddyn yn gorwedd gyda gwraig ei dad. 2A dyma chwi, yn llawn ymffrost! Onid eich lle chwi oedd galaru, a bwrw allan o'ch plith yr un a wnaeth y fath beth? 3Oherwydd dyma fi, yn absennol yn y corff, ond yn bresennol yn yr ysbryd, eisoes wedi rhoi dyfarniad, fel un sy'n bresennol, ar y dyn a wnaeth y fath weithred: 4bod i chwi, ynghyd â'm hysbryd innau, wedi ymgynnull yn enw ein Harglwydd Iesu, a gallu ein Harglwydd Iesu gyda ni, 5draddodi'r fath ddyn i Satan er mwyn dinistrio'r cnawd, a thrwy hynny achub ei ysbryd yn Nydd yr Arglwydd. 6Nid yw eich ymffrost yn weddus. Oni wyddoch fod ychydig lefain yn lefeinio'r holl does? 7Glanhewch yr hen lefain allan, ichwi fod yn does newydd, croyw, fel yr ydych mewn gwirionedd. Oherwydd y mae Crist, ein Pasg ni, wedi ei aberthu. 8Am hynny cadwn yr ŵyl, nid â'r hen lefain, nac ychwaith â lefain malais a llygredd, ond â bara croyw purdeb a gwirionedd.
9Ysgrifennais atoch yn fy llythyr, i ddweud wrthych am beidio â chymysgu â phobl sy'n cyflawni anfoesoldeb rhywiol. 10Ond nid am rai anfoesol y byd hwn yr oeddwn yn meddwl o gwbl, na chwaith am y trachwantus, y cribddeilwyr, neu'r eilunaddolwyr; onid e, byddai'n rhaid ichwi fynd allan o'r byd. 11Ond yn awr yr wyf yn ysgrifennu#5:11 Neu, Yn hytrach, ysgrifennu a wneuthum. i ddweud wrthych am beidio â chymysgu â neb a elwir yn gredadun os yw'n anfoesol yn rhywiol neu'n trachwantu, yn addoli eilunod, yn difenwi, yn meddwi, neu'n cribddeilio; peidiwch hyd yn oed â bwyta gydag un felly. 12Oherwydd beth sydd a wnelwyf fi â barnu'r rhai sydd oddi allan? Onid y rhai sydd oddi mewn yr ydych chwi yn eu barnu? 13Duw fydd yn barnu'r rhai sydd oddi allan. Taflwch y dihiryn allan o'ch mysg.
