The Unhurried Life by Anthony Thompson

DAY 4 OF 5

Day 4: The Seed of Your Present - Joseph's Journey Scripture : Genesis 39 - The story of Joseph Let's delve into the life of Joseph – a tapestry of betrayal, false accusations, and imprisonment. Sounds like some modern-day House Wives of OC episodes. Yet, this remarkable man never rushed through his trials. Instead, he saw each challenge as a seed for future triumphs. When falsely accused by Potiphar's wife, instead of despairing, Joseph used his time in prison as a period of growth, preparing for the destiny God had for him. His story is a powerful reminder that our present, no matter how challenging, is a seed for our future. It's our response to current situations that shape our destiny. Joseph's integrity and trustworthiness, sown in the hardest of times, reaped a harvest of authority and influence. When I first launched a business in another country, I felt stuck. Revenue wasn’t coming in as fast as I had hoped. Married and with small children at home, THE WAITING felt like torture. As I reflect on these moments I am reminded of everything I was learning in this season. I was constantly seeking wisdom, counsel, and innovative ideas to get things going. I was also praying A TON, and speaking God’s Word over my life and business. The process was slower than I would have liked, but I never gave up. Not long after - the business began to work. Since then, I’ve had many more seasons of waiting. In each season, I’m reminded of all the lessons I learned. All of the failures that helped build my future. Being stuck sucks. It feels slow. It feels draining, but it’s in these seasons when taking on the UNHURRIED LIFE becomes so powerful. You are not alone. I can remember coming across a powerful quote that said, “If you knew who walked beside you on this path you have chosen, fear would be impossible .” What if you did something different in this season? What if you asked the Lord to open your eyes to what He has for you? What is the Lord speaking to you right now? What do you see in Joseph’s story that resonates with you? What are you learning about this season? What does the “Unhurried Life” look like for you? If this season is seeds for your future, what types of seeds are you sowing? What type of harvest are you seeking? What are you afraid of? Affirmation : "I view my present challenges as opportunities for growth. I am sowing seeds of integrity and faith for a future harvest of blessings."
