# Restart the Day Eddy said, “Mommy you sound grumpy. Do you need to go back to bed like I do sometimes?” Lisa smiled and said, “Maybe I do. I am sorry I yelled at you and got upset when you spilled milk and I slipped in it. You eat your cereal and I’ll be back in a little while. I’m taking my Bible with me.” Back in bed Lisa read and prayed. She smiled as she thought of days Eddy woke up grumpy and everything seemed to go wrong before she suggested they start the day over. She needed a fresh start. She should have gently reminded him to keep the bowl away from the table’s edge. She could have been kinder when it spilled, and she watched tears rolled down his cheeks. Even mom’s need to adjust their attitudes. Lisa got up again and even changed clothes for a fresh start. Waltzing into the kitchen, Linda hugged Eddy and said, “Forgive me for yelling. Let’s take a walk and look for bugs.” Eddy ran to grab his butterfly net, baseball cap, and put on his shoes. He held his mother’s hand. Eddy laughed, “I love finding bugs. I forgive you. Can you take pictures?” “Sure. I’ve got my phone.” “Mommy, starting the day over really helps you too.” “Yes, we all need second chances and fresh starts. Forgiveness is so great.
