Trusting God in Suffering: Video Devotions

DAY 4 OF 4

By His Wounds We Have Been Healed

Nothing can pull us off course quite like suffering. We’re walking along in Jesus’ footsteps one day, and the next, we’re in awful pain and often can’t see the path, let alone walk it with Him. So how can we stay on course in the midst of trials, and, like Jesus, keep focused on God’s will for our lives?

LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS

  • Think back to times of suffering in your life. Did they knock you off course, or did you keep your focus and continue to follow Jesus through the struggle?
  • What did you learn, about yourself and about God’s nature, in those times? Write down some of the promises He gave you and some of the lessons He taught you in your times of suffering. These are powerful reminders that will stand you in good stead when the next trial comes.
  • Reflect on 1 Peter 2:24-25. Praise Jesus for His incredible love that saw Him endure the worst suffering imaginable – all for your sake. Write out a prayer of thanksgiving and keep it with you as a reminder of how much He values you.
  • What’s your mission in life? Ask God to speak it into the deepest parts of your soul, so that you can know what He wants from you today and every day, whether circumstances are easy or life is incredibly hard.
