Refton Brethren in Christ Church

1 Peter 1:3
- "new birth" or "born again" = you've left your old way of life behind
- biblical "hope" = an assurance of an eternal future with God

1 Peter 1:4
- We can look forward to "an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade."

1 Peter 1:6
- "In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials."

1 Peter 1:15-16
- "Be holy, because I am holy."
- Jesus is our moral standard for living; not the world.
- It's important that we represent [image] Jesus well, because if we don't, we might push others away from Jesus and His message.

1 Peter 1:17-18
- "reverent fear" = profound respect for God
- "empty way of life" = living in ignorance and darkness
- Living without Jesus if both useless and hopeless

Consider this: Do we live as the world lives, or as followers of Jesus?

1 Peter 1:22-23
- "purified" = cleansed from our sin
- "born again" = we've put off our old self and have put on our new self in Jesus
