elohim - "god(s)" - is a word that describes spiritual beings

"You shall have no other spiritual beings before me."

elohim describes a type of being - Yahweh God is a spiritual being

Biblical Monotheism: Yahweh God is the Most High God. No other spiritual being even compares to Him!

- This isn't polytheism (where a person is loyal to many gods)
- This isn't about idols either...

Who are the "sons of God"?

They are high ranking spiritual beings. They have higher level responsibilities and/or jurisdiction.

Yes. It doesn't say that they can't; it says that they don't.

This is similar to the Levitical Law...

The sons of God took wives for themselves and had children - How do you think Yahweh reacted to this? He wasn't happy!!

Jesus is THE Son of God. But why is He unique? It's because He is God!!

Jesus didn't only come so that you and I could go to heaven some day. It's much more than that! He came to take on the spiritual forces of evil as well, and He accomplished His mission by conquering death!
