Making and Maintaining a Healthy Relationship with Yourself

Making and Maintaining a Healthy Relationship with Yourself

Relationships come from the word “relate” and refers to how two or more people connect or are connected. There are all sorts of relationships in our lives from family, friends, and neighbors, to co-workers, and classmates. Relationships are made and must be maintained in every area of our lives; at home, school, work, church and even when we are alone our relationships fill our minds and hearts. Join us this Sunday August 25th at 10AM for a very enlightening and encouraging series on what the Bible says about making and maintaining healthy relationships. This week we focus on Making and Maintaining a Healthy Relationship With Yourself.

Mark 12:30-31

1) Love God - first and foremost with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.

2) Love yourself - accepting and appreciating who you are in Christ.

A) What is an unhealthy view of yourself?

1) Thinking too highly of yourself

II Timothy 3:1-5

2) Thinking too lowly of yourself
Natural Reason

I Corinthians 1:26-28

Spiritual Reason

I Corinthians 1:29-31

The mirrors that we may look at ourselves through:

- The Mirror of Culture

Daniel 3:16-18

- The Mirror of Comparison

II Corinthians 10:12-13

- The Mirror of Conversation
- The Mirror of Circumstances
- The Mirror of Christ
The great irony is:

To not like yourself is to really be self-centered.

Philippians 2:3-11

Loving yourself is not elevating yourself above others, but equally loving others as yourself.
