Asa went down is the history of the kings of Judah as a good king who was faithful to God. But he didn't finish well. Today we explore the traps that stopped Asa from finishing well in the hopes that we can avoid them in our own life and finish well in faith.
To finish well don't let comfort lead to complacency
Asa had many years of peace and comfort. After this his faith had grown complacent.

Has the comfort we live in lead us into a place of complacency in our faith?
To finish well don't let blessings develop into pride.
Asa and the kingdom Judah had been blessed by God. There was treasure stored up in the temple and treasure stored up in the palace. Instead of calling upon the Lord for rescue Asa trusted in the resources he had been blessed with.

Do we trust more in our blessings or the blesser?
To finish well don't let disappointment evolve into bitterness.
Asa was disappointed and angry, and he didn't get over it. Instead he allowed his disappointment to evolve into bitterness. His bitterness kept him from calling out to God and receiving healing.

Do you proactively move on from disappointment or do you let it fester into bitterness?
