Week 2: “The Priest and Levite"

Take Away: Jesus’ use of parables reminds us that we must share the Gospel in a variety of ways to speak to a variety of listeners.
Take Away: We must choose relationship over religion. Religion cheapens God’s grace, but relationship embraces the freedom that comes from knowing Jesus intimately.
Take Away: Jesus calls each of us to have concern and love for all people. This may require a broader understanding of who our neighbor truly is.

TAKE AWAY:
We come across people every day who need a helping hand in one way or another. To help and serve them is an attribute of Christ.
B. The Priest
TAKE AWAY:
We can easily rationalize passing up a person who needs our help and in doing so we rob them of experiencing Jesus through us.
C. The Levite
TAKE AWAY:
When faced with the decision to help or not help, we can choose to be self-preserving or we can take a risk that could make all the difference for the person we’re helping. It could make an eternal difference.
