Mission Hills Church
Equipted | While We Wait
As followers of Jesus, we've been entrusted with an incredible calling: to live on mission with Jesus, extending God's influence into every nook and cranny of our world. That's exciting, but it's also intimidating. It's easy to feel like we don't have what it takes to pull it off. But we do. You do. God has equipped you - and all the followers of Jesus together - with powerful, world-changing gifts. Join us as we learn together how to be the world-changers God has equipTed us to be.

Mission Hills is a church family—a family who wants to extend to you the same love, hope, and joy that we have received. We know that we cannot be all things to all people. But we do want to be one thing to all people. We want to be the place where anyone, of any age, of any level of spiritual maturity, of any economic class, of any ethnicity, of any church background—or no church background—can meet God in a way that transforms their life…forever!

If you are a first time guest, we would love to meet you! Stop by the Welcome Center for a free gift.

Mission Hills Golf Classic

We’re excited to have Lone Tree Golf Club hosting the 17th Annual Mission Hills Golf Classic on August 23rd, 2019. Hidden away in the heart of Lone Tree, just south of the Denver Tech Center, is this 18-hole, Arnold Palmer-designed, par-72 championship course. Play rolling fairways and greens while taking in incredible views of the Front Range. All proceeds benefit missions and camp scholarships at Mission Hills Church. Register online by August 20.

This isn't the rank of importance. It's the sequence of appearance.
God gives what's needed when it's needed.
// What was important yesterday may not be what's important today.
// What's important today may not be what's important tomorrow.
Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way.
or: You're all so zealous for the "greater" gifts, but I will show you a much better way.
Paul isn’t saying human beings can speak the language of angels.
Without love, anything we say is just noise.

(ask yourself: is this motivated by love? Is that love obvious?)
Without love, our gifts and sacrifices accomplish nothing.

(ask yourself: is this motivated by love? Is that love obvious?)
Love is the tie that connects diversity to unity.
Love has no expiration date, but (some) spiritual gifts do.
1. Is he talking about all spiritual gifts or just the "sign" gifts?

2. When will these expire?

Option 1 – The expiration date could be the completion of the Bible.

Option 2 – The expiration date could be the return of Jesus.

Option 3 - The frequency of all the gifts will vary as God determines they are needed.
We should be open, but cautious when it comes to sign gifts…and we should never obsess over particular gifts.
Don't make mistakes as children that will haunt us when we all grow up.
Love will never go out of style and it binds the whole ensemble together.
1. Where am I assuming the part I see is the whole? Where do I need to seek more understanding?

2. Where is my lack of love causing division? Whose forgiveness do I need to seek?

3. Where am I at risk of making a mistake based on limited understanding that will haunt me later?

Outdoor Baptism

We believe that baptism is an important step of obedience for every person who has accepted Christ as his or her Savior. Baptism is a personal declaration that we choose to identify with Jesus. If you'd like to be baptized this summer, sign up online for our upcoming outdoor baptism service, and register online to attend one of our baptism preparation meetings on June 29 or 30.
